In one of our longest-standing traditions – Detroit Basketball Report unveiled a preseason team of All-Detroit and All-Michigan players playing D-I basketball for the past two seasons – we release the Third Annual Preseason All-Detroit team.

The criteria are simple: attend high school in the city (or be from Detroit and be blatantly poached from the city), play for a D-I school, be eligible for at least 1/2 of the season, and you’re eligible for All-Detroit. (That’s why, right now, we’re sans Jordan Crawford). All-Michigan is comprised from everywhere else across our great state.

Comments: Uh, were have all the big men gone? We were weak on depth there last year. Derrick Nix can’t get to Michigan State soon enough. Because of NBA attrition (CDR, Malik and Joe Crawford) and dismissals (Ramar Smith), Manny Harris is suddenly the best Detroit collegian. And technically this is only 4/5 of a team, since ‘Los is out for the season with a broken foot.
